Call for Abstracts

Abstract submission was closed on February 22.
Preliminary notifications of review results (accepted/rejected) were sent to the presenting authors on March 4. If you have not received the notification, please contact the Secretariat.

Late Submission (closed on Feb. 22, 2010)

Abstracts for poster presentations will be accepted by February 21, 24:00 JST (9 hours ahead GMT). Please submit your abstract by clicking the "Online Submission" button below. It should be noted that the late submission are not eligible for the Young Researcher Poster Award.

Regular Submission (closed on Feb. 8, 2010)

ICSM 2010 calls for papers for oral and poster presentations. Those who wish to make a presentation are requested to submit an abstract online at the conference website by February 8, 2010, 12:00 JST (+09:00 GMT). Full and student participants are eligible for being a presenting author, and only presenting authors are allowed to sign up for abstract submissions. Multiple submissions from the same presenting author will not be accepted. Upon submission, please indicate a type of presentation you prefer from "Oral", "Poster" and "Either". The abstracts will be reviewed by the ICSM 2010 Program Committee, and will be assigned to Invited Lectures, Regular Oral Presentations and Poster Presentations. Even if you prefer an oral presentation, your paper may be assigned to a poster presentation due to scientific reasons and the capacity of oral presentations. A preliminary notification of the result (accepted / rejected) will be sent to the presenting author by e-mail in early March, and more detailed information (presentation type, date, etc.) will be notified in April, 2010. How to prepare oral and poster presentations will be announced on the website when the conference comes closer. No proceedings will be published for ICSM 2010.

Instructions for Authors

Abstracts must be submitted as PDF files of camera-ready versions so that they should be published in an abstract book distributed to participants. Please use a template (.doc) below for preparing your manuscript, and convert the manuscript into a PDF format before online submission.

  1. Prepare all text and figures in black and white.
  2. Print all text in a single-column format within the area of 85 mm (width) x 110 mm (height). One page limit.
  3. Type in single line spacing.
  4. Use standard fonts such as Times New Roman, 9 points for text.
  5. Center the title of the presentation along with authors' names and their affiliations at the top of the abstract.
  6. Title should be typed in bold, 10-point font with initial capitals. Authors should be listed consecutively by initials and last name. Identify the presenting author by underlining the name. Affiliation should be indicated with superscripted suffix Arabic numerals or symbol. E-mail(s), if preferred, can be added after the corresponding affiliation(s).
  7. Type the text body flush left-and-right (justified) in 9-point fonts.
  8. Fonts must be embedded when making a PDF file. The file size cannot exceed 3 MB.
